The Ultimate in Puppy Care

Our Philosophy for raising healthy Great Danes

Our Philosophy for puppy rearing is based strongly on Juliette de Baïracli Levy’s as outlined in her outstanding book The Complete Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Cat.  If you are unfamiliar with this amazing woman and her incredible work, I strongly recommend that you spend some time getting to know her.Her book outlines recommended diets and lifestyles for dogs (and cats) as well as common ailments and how to treat them.  It is an invaluable resource for every dog and cat owner, so much so that we provide a copy for you with each puppy sold.

Vigoroso puppies do not come with lengthy, complicated and demanding contracts that tell you how we demand you treat our dog.  We do give you a number of recommendations specific to:

Nutritional Advice
Diet and exercise
Psychological and physiological care
Education and discipline
Parasite management
Vaccination options
Veterinary care in line with our philosphy

“More dogs are killed by dosing for worms than are ever killed by the worms themselves, and further, severe suffering is frequently caused by the worm treatments in common use” – Juliette de Baïracli Levy

If you are looking for Great Danes raised holistically and naturally, then you have come to the right place.

Juliette de Baïracli Levy talks of the three “9s”, we have extended it to be the four “9s”

The first 9 is our responsibility:

  • The 9 weeks from conception to whelping.

The second is also our responsibility:

  • The 9 weeks from birth to joining you and going home

The third is your responsibility:

  • The 9 months from when your puppy first walks in your front door of rearing the pup, providing a diet of whole foods, ample exercise, discipline and health.

The final 9 is our own, it is the 9 plus years of family and friendship that you will have your Great Dane through thick or through thin.
